On August 30th, 2014 the Oklahoma Sooners hosted the Louisiana Tech in Norman. The Sooners soundly beat the Bulldogs 48-16 as Trevor Knight passed for 253 yards. The Sooners ground game added 183 yards on the ground, led by Keith Ford who chipped in 116 yards from scrimmage. The Sooners raced out to a 31-0 lead in the second quarter but it was the defense that starred in the 2nd half. They allowed 89 total yards in the second half, most of it in garbage time. Zack Sanchez was the star of the defense, picking off a pass and blocking a field goal.

The Sooners came out in their first game after the Sugar Bowl win against Alabama and looked really good. Sadly that season didn’t turn out like most had imagined.

It’s strange writing names like Trevor Knight and Keith Ford, and Zack Sanchez now that all three are no longer a part of the Sooners football team for various reasons.
