As expected, the Kentucky Wildcats will have a Saturday night home opener when the 2016 college football season kicks off.
The Cats will host the Southern Miss golden Eagles under the bright lights of Commonwealth Stadium on ESPNU at 7:30 p.m. EST, UK announced on Tuesday. The Cats also have set the times for games vs Florida and New Mexico State, which will kick off in the afternoon:

That game against the Aggies will be on the SEC Network Alternate Channel. The matchup with the Florida Gators was previously announced as the featured SEC on CBS game for Week 2. At the very least, UK should come out of that three-game stretch with a 2-1 record, and the Florida game may very well come down to the wire once again.
Week 1 can’t get here soon enough.
