It’s simple math at this point. Virginia Tech is way overdue to win a national championship in a varsity sport. The football team and the men’s basketball team are the most high profile, but do they offer the Hokies the best shot at a title? The last time Virginia Tech had an opportunity in football was in 1999. It’s hard to believe that was almost 20 years ago. Some would argue that the N.I.T. title of 1973 by the basketball team should count. Virginia Tech has won some individual titles in track and field, but are currently shut out in team sports. In 2006 Virginia Tech won a “national championship” in bass fishing. Hmmm.
Hey, you know who has never won a national championship? Virginia Tech that’s who!! https://t.co/e0Z2ju033K

It is hard to to imagine that in the next 5 years the Hokies don’t win a national championship in something. What sport gives Virginia Tech the best chance?
