The Badgers offer a receiver that’s tall and fast.

The Wisconsin Badgers have made multiple offers to wide receivers during this evaluation period. Last Friday, the coaching staff made a move for one of the more intriguing prospects in Garland, Tex. (Lakeview Centennial) prospect Shamond Greenwood.

You don’t even need to look at the Hudl profile to understand as to why he earned the offer. The three-star prospect went to the opening in Dallas and measured at a full 6’3, 195 pounds. Add in a laser timed 4.43 40-yard dash, and on physical gifts alone you have an prospect worth an offer. When you add in what’s on the Hudl, you have a prospect with high-upside and traits that make him a strong fit for Wisconsin.

He has that “my bal”l mentality that if a quarterback throws it in his general direction, he will go get it. He also translates his track speed onto the field, using it to be both a vertical as well as underneath threat. Oh, and he will do his level best to put cornerbacks and safeties on skates in the run game. Blocking is definitely a strength.

Scout.com watched Greenwood during the Mesquite 7v7 State Qualifying Tournament this past weekend. Per Greg Powers:

Greenwood does have power five offers from Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi State, and Utah, and recently listed the Hawkeyes and the Bulldogs as his top two. That said, if the Badgers are in the market for a big physical receiver? This is a strong candidate with definite mutual interest.
