There are 93 days left until the start of the 2016 season.

We are rolling on with the countdown to the start of the 2016 Penn State football season, and we are 93 days away from the opener against Kent State. That means today’s post is about redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Antoine White.

White broke into the rotation in 2015 after redshirting the 2014 season. The top three tackles in the rotation were Austin Johnson, Anthony Zettel, and Tarow Barney, who are all now in the NFL. That leaves just White and Parker Cothren as the only players on the roster with FBS defensive tackle experience.

In 2015, White played in 10 games, accumulating 12 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack. The Millville, NJ native saw his playing time fluctuate a bit throughout the season, ultimately playing 99 snaps in a stacked rotation. There will be plenty of opportunities for playing time with three players having departed for the pros, and White could end up being a key fixture on the defensive line.
