Let’s hope for some nice, freezing temperatures to see how the Tigers react.

When the Wisconsin Badgers and LSU Tigers meet on the field in week one, it will be the first time Lambeau Field will play host to a college football game since 1983 when St. Norbert defeated Fordham in 1963. ESPN’s College GameDay has decided that such an occasion isĀ worthy of their opening weekend-presence, even amidst a loaded week one schedule.

It will be the first time Wisconsin will “host” (though the game is being played away from Madison) College GameDay since the 2011 meeting with Nebraska when the Badgers were ranked No. 7 and the Huskers No. 8. It will be the Badgers’ 13th appearance in a GameDay marquee game. The teams will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET, and will be broadcast on ABC.

ESPN analyst and College GameDay host Kirk Herbstreit announced the week one location on the Doug Gottlieb Show.

Some of the other big games on the first Saturday of the season that Wisconsin-LSU beat out are as follows:

No. 3 Oklahoma vs. No. 12 Houston

No. 20 North Carolina vs. No. 22 Georgia

No. 2 Alabama vs. No. 19 USC

No. 1 Clemson at Auburn
