Another big pickup for the Rutgers staff as 4 star outside linebacker Tyshon Fogg this afternoon announced his intention to join the Scarlet Knights.  The Class of 2017 commit from Calvert Hall (Towson, MD) is yet another NJ native, as Tyshon grew up in NJ and stated his intent to return home as a major reason for his commitment to Rutgers.

The 6’2″ 216 lb. OLB is the second 4 star player to commit to Rutgers from the Class of 2017.  Prior to Fogg’s announcement, Rutgers had a recruiting class in the top 30 schools nationally.  This will certainly propel the Scarlet Knights into yet a higher ranking.

Fogg is the second commit this weekend, as yesterday saw the commitment of wide receiver Tyler Hayek, also a NJ recruit.  Coach Ash and his team continue to live up to their determination to keep NJ recruits home and commit to their home-state school.

Rutgers won out with Tyshon from over 25 other offers, including Penn State, Stanford, Missouri, Michigan State, and Pitt.

Fog is ranked as high as #3 in the East by Scout Recruiting.  His strengths are considered to be his ability to make open field plays and pursue the ball.

Of the 15 recruits so far for the Class of 2017, all but three are NJ natives.  Kudos to the staff for their hard work and staying on track!
