Offseason OTAs are in full swing in the NFL and there are many former Spartans looking to impress the coaches early and hopefully earn a spot on the 53 man roster. Down in Metairie, LA the Saints are getting into preseason form and working out in hopes of finding some diamonds in the rough from this years draft. One of those players we know to be a gem is former Spartan Jack Allen. The New Orleans The Times-Picayune is doing a series getting to know some of the recently signed rookies and they had a chance to catch up with Jack after a practice.
“What we built our program on is toughness.”, said Allen. “Our coaches always tried to put us in difficult situations on the field, stress us out out there. It is all toughness.”
When asked about what went into the process of choosing the Saints and accepting that offer, Allen as casual about it. “It is a great opportunity, with a great program.”
