The Gamecocks continue to dip into the Sunshine State in search of future players.

It was a relatively quiet day for the South Carolina Gamecocks on the recruiting trail, but they did end up offering a big-time 2018 RB and a ninth 2019 prospect.

2018 Oregon State RB commit hears from Gamecocks

Camron Davis ranks as one of the top running backs in his class. While NSD 2018 is still less than two years away, Davis chose Oregon State back in January – but will interest from other schools change his mind? We’ll have to see, but the Gamecocks hope that if he does, he chooses them. They extended an offer to the 5’10”, 191-pound RB yesterday, giving him eight total (Georgia, Louisville, USF, and West Virginia are among them). Davis attends Miami (Fla.) Carol City, the same high school as current South Carolina CB Rashad Fenton.

2019 two-way adds SC offer

The Gamecocks are looking to build an early relationship with a promising rising sophomore out of Florida. He’s Daniel Carter, a two-way OLB/RB from national power St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale.

The fact that Carter has a total of 11 offers as a sophomore-to-be tells you the caliber of player that he is projected to be. And they aren’t just any offers: Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi State, Ohio State and West Virginia are just a few names on the list for this young man. This is a kid worth keeping an eye on, because his recruitment is going to blow up in the next couple of years.

Gamecocks eyeing 2017 in-state athlete

They haven’t offered him yet, but South Aiken ATH Tancey Richardson has been hearing from the Gamecocks staff, especially Travaris Robinson. Robinson will be in to check on Richardson tomorrow, and it’s likely that he will extend an offer while he’s down there. Richardson is a former Southern Miss pledge before de-committing on April 5; he currently holds Colorado State, the Golden Eagles and Mississippi State among several offers.
